Albany's troubled youth now has an extra cushion of support.
A new resource center, run by the organization, Families Together, opened its doors Thursday.
The Family Resource Center, located on 747 Madison Avenue, is set up to help children and teens who suffer from social, emotional, or behavioral problems.
District Attorney David Soares, Albany County Executive Michael Breslin, and Mayor Jerry Jennings joined organizers and staff for the center's debut. Breslin says it's is a great resource for the community, and specifically for the Albany School District.
"There are kids with difficulties that they can't deal with, and maybe they can be dealt with here. We're not an absolute solution, we don't have a peg hole so that every little peg fits perfectly, cause life isn't like that, but we have a lot of different volunteers here, we have a magnificent staff, we have people committed," said Michael Breslin, Albany County Executive.
Families Together in Albany County is an organization that provides recreational and social opportunities for children isolated by their challenging behavior.
