Thank You For Your Support & Participation
We would like to thank everyone for your support and participation at the Benefit Walk for Children's Mental Health. Our Walk benefited children and youth in Albany County who participate in Families Together in Albany County's Youth Empowerment Project. The Youth Empowerment Project helps youth (14-21) with social, emotional or behavioral concerns through social and recreational programs and peer-to-peer counseling and supports. A portion of the proceeds will also support Parsons Child and Family Center.
We had a terrific day with 100 participants and raising $4,000. We were fortunate to have local media coverage as well as Albany County Executive Michael Breslin, Albany County District Attorney David Soares, and Colonie Town Supervisor Paula Mahon all participating in the opening ceremony and walking in the Walk. Our post-walk celebration featured live music from two local bands (Corn Bred and Acoustic Trauma) and a raffle filled with wonderful prizes donated from area businesses - this Walk showed true community collaboration. We are already looking forward to the 2nd Annual Walk for Children's Mental Health in May 2009.
We would also like to thank all of our sponsors, including: Price Chopper, Hannaford, Times Union, The Alchar Printing Group, Sprout Design Studio, Fidelis Care, Cohoes Savings Foundation, Albany Massage Therapy Associates and all of the wonderful businesses who donated prizes for our raffle.
We look forward to seeing you all at the next Walk and throughout the year.
